In the fall of 2016, Cylana was sold to American amateur rider Cloe Hymowitz, who trains with Brianne Goutal. Cylana will return to Kessler Show Stables to retire after her sporting career with Cloe.
Cylana is born in 2002, and is a Belgian Warmblood mare by Skippy II x Darco with incredible scope and an incredible mind. In 2012, Cylana and Reed were crowned co-champions at the National Show Jumping Championships and subsequently won the U.S. Olympic Trials. Reed and Cylana went on to represent the United States at the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Since then, Reed and Cylana have continued to shine at international level, competing in FEI Nations Cup competitions and Grand Prix classes.
The pair were part of the winning Nations Cup teams in Wellington, Florida, and in Hickstead, England. They were also part of the Nations Cup teams at Hickstead and in Aachen, that finished on the podium. Twice, Reed and Cylana have been on the Nations Cup Final-teams in Barcelona, Spain, finishing as the runner-up in the 2013 Final and fourth overall in the 2015 Final.
Together, the pair has won, or had major placings in the most notable Grand Prix competitions in the world, including winning the Queen Elizabeth II cup at Spruce Meadows in 2013, third in the $1MM Masters at Spruce in 2013, 2nd in the $1.5MM Masters at Spruce in 2014, first in the Washington International President’s Cup, 2nd in the Hermes Grand Prix of Paris, 2nd in the $400,000 CP Cup in 2015, and Tenth in the 2013 World Cup Finals. Cylana was also named 2013 Horse of the Year in Belgium.
